The project is open to men (including trans men) over 21, of all races and ethnicities, body types, weight etc. willing to pose with full-frontal nudity and their face visible - No exceptions. For the Bare Men series, men are captured and presented in an undoctored way; images are edited but they’re not photoshopped. Men are free to express their manhood, their own brand of masculinity.
I’m NOT obligated to work with every man who wants to be a part of the series. Approaching me, the project and the shoot with respect and professionalism will score you a lot of points. The opposite, will not.
DO NOT send me nude photographs or dick pics with your request to participate. DO NOT send me nude photographs or dick pics for critique. DO NOT send me nude photographs or dick pics.re
There’s no requirement to "get in shape" or "tone up" for the shoot. Hairy, bald, body art, piercings, modifications are all fine. I don’t request manscaping for the shoot; that's each man's personal preference.
I do request good personal hygiene. You’ll be naked; please shower before your photo shoot. If you sweat a lot when you're nervous or stressed, wear deodorant. Utilize toilet paper, baby wipes, a bidet after using the toilet. Brush your teeth. I cannot stress enough the importance of good personal hygiene.
Participation fee is $405 USD + applicable tax or VAT and includes:
Private nude and/or erotic photo shoot
Medium-resolution, watermarked Color and B&W digital images from the shoot for your own personal use. Men receive 30 images, on average
Three (3) 8x12 photo prints - one of your choosing - from your photo shoot. Once you make your print selection, I select 2 photos
The shoots are done in the men's homes so there is a level of comfort and familiarity. "Home" can be his actual residence, hotel or vacation rental, office, lab, yacht - the choices are endless. Shoots can also be done outside of the man's home in an agreed upon location. If you're comfortable outdoors, we can do that too and as long as local public nudity laws allow. Studio shoots are not the focus of this series.
I’m currently based in New York City, but I gladly set up shoots in other cities - travel is based on demand. If you’re not based in New York City but interested in participating, send me a message and I will be in touch if I'm planning to visit your city.
Photo shoots take about 60 minutes to an hour and a half (90 minutes).
The only people at the photo session will be you and I. I don't work with assistants at this time. If the photo session happens to take place in your home and someone else is there, that is acceptable. They can be in another room and peek in here and there. Sometimes having an "audience" changes the man's behavior and can affect the photos created so keep that in mind. Same goes for outdoor photo sessions. If you're aware that the public may see you while we're working and that isn't a problem for you, great. You can gain some insight from other men who’ve posed for the series — read their testimonials here.
If you have pets, we'll have a good laugh at their photobombs. Just let me know ahead of time if I’ll be greeted at the door by an animal.
If you have a partner or significant other who doesn’t want you to be photographed nude by a female photographer, you may want to reconsider participating in the project.
I do my best to get images to you within a week (7 days). Sometimes it takes longer especially if I'm traveling. I’ll contact you by email with any updates on the image processing.
Select images from your shoot, not all, will be part of the Bare Men series - on this website and in the book(s). Images may also appear in photo exhibits though that is at the discretion of individual curators. Be aware that not every man who has participated in the series will appear in exhibits. Images that adhere to social media nudity guidelines may also appear on my pages. Photos may also be used to promote the series. These stipulations are included in the model release you’ll have to sign.
Yes, you can share photos from our photo shoot (the ones that don’t violate their guidelines on nudity, or course) on Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and/or any other social media websites or applications as long as “Abigail Ekue Photography” is credited (that includes in captions and photo tagging). Post images as received. Do NOT alter images, add filters or remove copyright information or watermarks. Doing so is in violation of the intellectual property rights of Abigail Ekue Photography/Bare Men. You can purchase photographs that do not have a watermark.
The Bare Men series is about men baring all. Participants are willing to pose nude, in a public way. I understand that it's not for everybody. If you're interested a nude or erotic photo shoot but don’t want your images public, hiring me for a private photo shoot is your best option. Images from private shoots will not be published and/or used in Bare Men. Those photo shoots start at $710 USD.
Contact me or visit the Abigail Ekue Photography website for information on private nude and erotic photo shoots.
We can take a break from shooting if you DON’T want photographs depicting you in an aroused state. Some participants are fine with that and we continue to shoot. Each man does what he is comfortable with during the photo shoot. Don't compare yourself with other men in the series. Erotic images are NOT required.
Please fill out the contact form or send an email to abigail[AT]abigailekue{DOT}com and I will contact you about setting up a shoot. If you would like to bring Bare Men to your city or town, feel free to contact me about that too. Thank you!
